I had a small coffee and a giant Costco blueberry muffin. The total came to ... under $5!
We had lunch here on a Friday while waiting for my passport, and it was a pretty decent cafeteria! It appears quite typical like a ski resort cafeteria but they used good meat for the tuna melt which also included lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles for around $8 or so. Then we also had sweet potato fries and onion rings for around $3.60 each. The salad was also around 40 cents per ounce I believe. We picked up our hot plates after 5-10 minutes, paid at the cashier, and sat next to the large windows of the government building. It was convenient, freshly made, and past security so we really enjoyed our visit at the passport office.
I spent the whole day in the court house and the fries here were delicious and under five bucks. They were crispy hot and made to order. They have a bunch of daily specials and a salad bar but waiting for passport stuff to happen all day requires curly fries. No complaints.
Nothing wrong with this place. Great prices, cooks are friendly and it's really clean. Also a nice place to relax and wait for whatever you need instead of going to the street with the zombies.
Although this is a cafeteria style office building restaurant, it is geared towards grab and go. They have plenty of snacks and other previously prepared sandwiches, and salads. If you want, they also have a cook that prepares hot meals and they usually have a few specials ready to go. Do not expect a sandwich in two minutes everything they prepare takes at least 5 to 10 minutes. You can also try calling him ahead if you want but don't dare call before they open. They will not answer. How do you cook? It's funny and helpful cooks well his sous chef is really good as well. They used to have a white variety before the pandemic as well as a you pick salad bar as well
Amazing salad bar. Fresh cooked kale, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms. Capri Salad with fresh mozzarella. Crispy greens. Shocking to find such a fanatic cafeteria in San Francisco's old Federal Building.
